RijijuCentre today sought a detailed report from Uttar Pradesh government on the alleged migration from Kairana village in the state. In a communication, the Home Ministry asked the state government to verify the allegations and send a detailed report to it as early as possible. Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju had yesterday said it was unfortunate, if people were being forced to leave their homes in their own country.

Senior leader of BJP and Lok Sabha MP from Kairana, Hukum Singh has said that the exodus of people from Kairana and other places of Shamli district should not be viewed with religious angle. Addressing a press conference in Shamli today, he released a fresh list of 63 persons who, according to him, migrated from Kandhla town of Shamli district and said that the state of law and order in UP in general and Shamli in particular, has reached to a such a nadir that no one feels safe here.

He said that even some muslim families had also to flee from Kandhla due to high-handedness of local goons enjoying patronage of Samajwadi Party and apathetic attitude of administration towards their plight. He even cited names of some families who according to him fled from Shamli for the same reason. Earlier he had released a list of 346 persons who according to him migrated from Kairana of Shamli to other places owing threat to their life and property. A probe team comprising seven leaders of BJP will be reaching Kairana tomorrow to find out the truth about alleged exodus of people for fear of local goons.

Targeting the state government of Samajwadi Party, MP Hukum Singh said that the goons of the ruling party have created so much terror among poor and weak that they have no option other than migrating to some safer place. He accused that extortion, land grabbing, crime against women has become the order of the day.

He also trained his guns against district administration saying that it is forcing the families to record their statement against their will and just to belie his list released earlier. He however clarified that it is possible that his earlier list may be containing some names whose family members are still living in Kairana but it is not possible that the whole list can be bogus, he reiterated.
