Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that situation in Kashmir Valley had improved significantly over the past one year. Addresing a press conference in Srinagar today, Rajnath said, he is willing to meet anyone who wants to help resolve problems of Kashmir.

He said there was no question of a formal or informal invitation. Home minister said those who want to talk should come forward, when asked if the government was ready to hold talks with separatists. Mr Singh said that a permanent solution to Kashmir issue was based on five ‘C’s — compassion, communication, coexistence, confidence building and consistency.

He said the government did not want to leave out any of the stakeholders with whom dialogue should be held. Responding to a question, Rajnath Singh said India wants friendly relations with Pakistan. He said Pakistan must stop infiltration of militants into Jammu and Kashmir and take tangible measures to improve bilateral relations. Commenting on Article 35A, Mr Singh said government will not go against sentiments of people.

He said there were no issues left that is why such issues are being raised.He said centre will run a special tourism drive for kashmir to promote tourism in the state as terrorism has adversely affected tourism sector in kashmir.

Home Minister announced that Centre will accommodate the cost escalation in PM’s Development Package (PMDP) that has gone from Rs 80, 000 crore to One Lac crore. He said he directed the concerned to expedite the implementation of the remaining ongoing projects under the package.

He said during his visit he has interacted with police and CRPF personnel and he will also meet Army personnel. Mr Singh is on a four-day visit to the state.
