Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to get an inquiry done by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after Mr. Modi had accused the Congress of having a nexus with “Ambani and Adani”.

Mr. Modi, addressing an election rally in Telangana, asked if the Congress had received “tempo loads of black money” from the two businessmen since Mr. Gandhi stopped “abusing” them and had gone silent.

PM Modi on Wednesday asked whether the Congress had “struck a deal with Ambani-Adani”, in an apparent jibe at the party which accused him of favouring certain industrialists.

“I want to ask from Telangana soil, let the Shehzada (referring to Rahul Gandhi) announce, how much has been lifted from Ambani-Adani. Has tempo loads of notes (currency) reached the Congress? What deal has been arrived at, that abusing Ambani-Adani has stopped overnight?” PM Modi said, addressing a rally in Telangana.

Responding to the PM’s jibe, Rahul Gandhi said, “And you also know they give money in tempos. Is that your personal experience?”

He then asked PM Modi to send the Enforcement Directorate and CBI to the industrialists.

“Get an enquiry done as soon as possible,” Rahul Gandhi said.

“I want to repeat: The amount of money Narendra Modi gave to these industrialists, Congress will give the same amount to the nation’s poor. BJP made 22 crorepatis, we will make crores of crorepatis,” Rahul Gandhi said
