The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the results of the Class XII Board Examinations for the 2025-26 academic session, with an overall pass percentage of 85.20 per cent.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today announced the Class 12 board examination results. Students can check their result on the official website, DigiLocker and UMANG App by mentioning Roll number. This year, the CBSE Class 12 exams were conducted between February 17 and April 10, 2026 across Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams. In a statement, CBSE informed that over 17 lakh 68 thousand students appeared in the exams, and over 15 lakh 7 thousand students passed. The overall pass percentage this year is 85.20 percent. The pass percentage for girls is 88.86 percent, while for boys it is 82.13 percent.

According to the Board, students can access their results through the official CBSE website, results portals, DigiLocker and the UMANG app. Digital mark sheets, migration certificates and passing certificates have also been made available through DigiLocker and are legally valid for admissions and other official purposes.
CBSE said the examinations were conducted smoothly in India and abroad, with the Board currently having affiliated schools in 27 countries. The Board conducts examinations in 120 subjects at the senior secondary level, one of the highest among national and international education boards.
A major highlight of this year’s evaluation process was the introduction of On Screen Marking (OSM) for Class XII answer books. CBSE said the digital evaluation system helped eliminate totalling and uploading errors, ensured complete assessment of answer sheets and reduced manual handling. The Board described the initiative as a step towards greater transparency, efficiency and fairness in evaluation.
The Board stated that nearly 98.66 lakh answer sheets were evaluated with the help of around 70,000 evaluators, 17,500 assistant head examiners and 3,889 head examiners.
CBSE also conducted special examinations for students participating in national and international sports events shortly after the main examinations. In addition, the Board made special arrangements for students in West Asian countries.
To ensure smooth conduct of examinations, CBSE released the first date sheet 109 days before the examinations began and later issued a revised schedule with minor corrections 47 days ahead of the exams. More than 40,000 subject combinations were offered by students during the 2025-26 session, the Board said.
The Board further informed that merit certificates would be issued to the top 0.1 per cent students in each subject through DigiLocker.
CBSE said post-result facilities, including re-evaluation, will begin from May 18, 2026. Detailed guidelines for students will be issued separately online.
