CBSE Class 10th results for 2017-18 have been declared. The overall pass percentage this year is 86.70. The result scheduled to be announced at 4 pm today was declared three hours earlier.
Prakhar Mittal of DPS Gurugram, Rimzim Agarwal of RP Public school, Bijnor, Nandini Garg of Scotish International school, Shamli and Sreelakshmi G of Bhavan’s vidyalaya Cochin have topped the exam with 499 marks each.
While seven students secured the second position with 498 marks, 14 students bagged the third spot with a score of 497.The top three performing regions are Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Ajmer.
Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar congratulated the students who passed their Class 10 CBSE exams today and said the reintroduction of the board exam was an important step.
This was the first batch of students to appear for the Class 10 board examinations after the CBSE decided to junk the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and reintroduce the board exams.
He said, those who did not succeed should not lose heart and the students who have got compartment should prepare well and they will pass the exam. He said, the Class 10 exams would help the students prepare for the Class 12 board exams.
Delhi recorded a pass percentage of 78.62.The results are available on the websites – www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.
