CBI has arrested Maisanam Riten Kumar Singh, Executive Director and Regional Officer, National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Regional Office, Guwahati, while accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from Vinod Kumar Jain (private person).

During searches of the accused officer’s premises, cash worth ₹2.62 crore was seized. The officer and his family members were found to have acquired nine real estate properties and 20 apartments across India. Additionally, documents related to the purchase of high-end vehicles in the officer’s name were recovered.

CBI spokesperson said that based on information received from sources, a case was registered against M/s Riten Kumar Singh, Executive Director and Regional Officer, NHIDCL, Regional Office, Guwahati and two representatives of Kolkata based company M/s Mohan Lal Jain.

CBI laid a trap on 14.10.2025 and arrested the accused Executive Director MySam Riten Kumar Singh and Company Representative Vinod Kumar Jain when MySam Riten Kumar Singh was accepting a bribe of Rs. 10 lakh from Vinod Kumar Jain.

The bribe was taken for issuing favourable Extension of Time (EOT) and Completion Certificate for the work done by the private company in connection with the contract for 4-laning of National Highway-37 from Demo to the end of Moran Bypass and other contracts in the State of Assam.

07 office and residential premises of the accused were searched at various locations across India. Further verification of immovable/movable properties of the accused public servant is in progress. Both the arrested accused were produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Guwahati.
