capt-amarendar-singhPunjab Vigilance Bureau has given clean chit to Captain Amrinder Singh, now chief minister and 30 others accused in the Ludhiana City Centre scam. The FIR was registered more than 10 years ago in March 2007. Vigilance Bureau fails to frame charges in 10 years. In March this year the Bureau initiated a review of facts and figures of the case in light of some new evidences.

The Ludhiana City Centre project, launched in 2006, was to build multiplexes, malls and leisure parks.

The Vigilance Bureau had accused than Captain Amarinder and his team of diluting the terms and conditions to favour a Delhi based company. In the scam other accused were Captain’s son in law Raminder Singh, son Raninder Singh, former state congress chief H S Hans pal, former local bodies minister Choudhary Jagjit Singh and than chairman of the Ludhiana improvement trust Wing commander(retired) Parajit Singh Sonia.

The Vigilance Bureau submitted the cancellation report in the court of session judge Gurbir Singh. Defence counsel Trilok Sood said that no concrete evidence could be found against the accused.
