Campaigning in full swing for final phase of LS elections 2019

59 seats, spread over seven states and one Union Territory, will go to polls in the final phase on Sunday

Senior leaders of various political parties are holding multiple rallies at different places for the seventh and final phase of Lok Sabha elections. 59 seats, spread over seven states and one Union Territory, will go to polls in the final phase on Sunday.

Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday addressed election rallies at Buxar and Sasaram in Bihar. He lashed out at the opposition parties, saying that the Congress and the RJD will push 21st century India into darkness if voted to power. He claimed that it was just the BJP-led NDA dispensation that could lead the nation towards the light.

The Prime Minister said, Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas is NDA’s mantra and they strive to ensure security and respect for all. He said that opposition parties, on the other hand, think some castes are beholden to them. The Prime Minister insisted that he has always lived and worked for the country, without taking any break.

Earlier, addressing a rally at Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, he said, the NDA government is committed to the upliftment of the poor and the underprivileged. In his message to people of Varanasi through Narendra Modi App, the Prime Minister said, Kashi has played a huge role in his life journey and political career. He said it is his good fortune that people of the place chose him as their representative.

Prime Minister Modi said, he is proud that Varanasi has embarked on a path towards development in the last 5 years. He added that Varanasi stands as an example to others, be it in the health sector or skill sector.

BSP president Mayawati today urged election commission that the money spent on Roadshows during the campaign should be added in the account of candidate’s election expenditure. Leaders of several political parties held rallies and public meetings to woo the voters.

BJP President Amit Shah held a roadshow at Kolkata in West Bengal. Clashes took place between ruling Trinamool Congress and Opposition BJP supporters during the roadshow.

Trinamool Congress President and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also addressed rallies at Jadavpur, Tollygunge, and Behala. General Secretary of CPI(M) Sitaram Yeachuri also took part in ‘Padayatra at Behala while State Congress President Somen Mitra participated in an election rally at South Kolkata.

Addressing rallies at Ujjain, Neemach, and Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, Congress President Rahul Gandhi alleged that demonetization and flawed implementation of GST have destroyed the economy of the country. He said Congress will empower poor, farmers, youth, women and the common people with its NYAY scheme. Mr. Gandhi assured a separate budget for farmers if his party is voted to power.

Voting in this phase will take place for 13 seats each in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab; nine in West Bengal, eight each in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh; all four seats in Himachal Pradesh; three in Jharkhand and the lone seat of Chandigarh.
