In West Bengal, campaigning gains full momentum for the upcoming assembly polls in the state which is going to commence from 27th of this month.

Star campaigners of various political parties have been attending rallies across the districts while new candidates are emphasizing on establishing public relation.

Addressing a rally at Gosaba in South 24 Parganas, Union Home minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah said that if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal, the deltaic Sunderbans region would be declared as a separate district.

He also promised to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences unit in the Sunderbans.

Mr. Shah alleged that the Mamata Banerjee-led ruling Trinamool government had not met the expectations of the people in the Sunderbans.

BJP National President JP Nadda also held a roadshow today at Ghatal in Paschim Medinipur.

Trinamool Congress supremo Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee addressed three political rallies today in Purulia district.

She claimed that BJP had promised a lot of things in Assam and Tripura in its Manifesto but the real situation is different.

Ms. Banerjee alleged that BJP governments in the two northeastern states have rendered thousands of government employees jobless.

On the other hand, Sanjukt Morcha leader, state Left front Chairman Biman Basu held a roadshow at Patrasayar in Bankura today in support of CPIM candidate.
