Poll campaigning came to an end in Uttarakhand today. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in district Dehradun along with other districts bordering the neighbouring states.

The administration has made all arrangements for peaceful polls for Uttarakhand assembly election. One thousand 564 polling booths have been declared as hyper sensitive whereas one thousand 283 booths declared sensitive in the state. For conducting free and fair polls in the state, the administration has deployed 12 thousand 828 police personnel, 25 companies of PAC and 105 companies of Central Police Force.

Meanwhile, the candidates have begun door-to-door campaigning to woo the voters. On the last day of campaigning today, five Union Ministers and one MP addressed several meetings for BJP candidates.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Harish Rawat alone organized more than half a dozen public meetings and road shows in several constituencies.

In Uttar Pradesh, campaigning for the second phase of election ended today. Voting will be held on Wednestday.

There are 67 seats spread over 11 districts in this phase. The districts which will go for poll in this phase are Saharanpur, Bijnore, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Bareily, Amroha, Peelibhit, Lakhimpur Kheeri, Shahjahanpur and Badayun.

This communally-sensitive area is at western part of state and Moradabad, Rampur, Barielly, Bijanur, Badayun and Amroha are most sensitive districts.

Senior leaders of all political parties campaigned wooing the voters in favour of their candidates. Parties made poll promises in the name of development, cane farmers problems, law and order issue and employment.
