Congress party has demanded the Centre to ask Telecom Regulatory Authority of India to issue direction to telecom service providers for providing rebate in the bills to the extent of call drop percentage.

Briefing Media in New Delhi, party spokesperson, Ajay Maken said, there seems to be a huge call drops in 2G and 3G networks and consumers should be compensated for this. He also said, if phone calls dropped at any point of time then it should considered in the call drop category.

The Congress also took strong exception to the Chandigarh Administration’s order for shutting down schools in view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow. Mr Maken said, the government should rectify the order as the students’ schooling and examination will suffer.

On the issue of announcing Dearness allowance of Central government employees, Mr Maken said, as the limit of DA has crossed more than hundred per cent and the government should merge it to the basic salary.

When asked about Congress stand on the issue of meat ban in States including Rajasthan and Maharashtra, Mr Maken said that his party does not want to make politics on the matter.He however said, people should be given freedom to choose what they want to eat.
