The historic Buddha Amar Nath Ji Temple in Pooch district of Jammu division has reopened today for the pilgrims after around 5 months. Acting on government guidelines, the Management Committee of the temple decided to open it for pilgrims.
Only one person will be allowed to visit the temple at a time with the condition that he/she must wear a mask and have to wash hands with soap at the main gate of the temple. Thousands of pilgrims are expected to visit the shrine this month. The Management Committee has chalked out a strategy to tackle the rush of the pilgrims.
Moreover, the 3 day long Kailash Yatra also begins from Badherwah town of Doda district today as the Charri Mubarak of Holy Kailash Yatra has left for Kailash Kund from the ancient Vasuki Nag Temple from Gatha area of Bhaderwah town. AIR Jammu Correspondent reports that amidst the chanting of Vasuki Nag deity, the Yatra crossed Bhaderwah town where administration and local people accorded a warm send off to the pilgrims. After a night stay at Hayan (Nalthi), the Yatra will reach its holy destination and the devotees will take a dip in the sacred water of Dal. After performing rituals, the yatra will start its return journey to Bhaderwah on 18th August.
