Both Houses of Parliament witnessed noisy scenes on the second day of the Monsoon session. Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated adjournments and noisy scenes throughout the day and had to be finally adjourned till tomorrow.
The House faced uproar on different issues raised by the opposition parties including issues related to farmers and atrocities and lynching of dalits.
The Lok Sabha could not function even during Question Hour due to uproar. The House was first adjourned till 12 and later Speaker Sumitra Mahajan was forced to adjourn the House for the day as noisy scenes continued.
Proceedings in both the Houses on the second day of the session was washed out and Parliament could not transact any business due to noisy scenes and repeated interruptions.
Presiding officers in the Rajya Sabha tried to run the House but the Opposition continued to troop into the well raising slogans against the government. This forced the Chair to adjourn the House for the day.
Government introduced the Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property (Amendment), Bill 2017 in Lok Sabha. The bill intends to rationalize the lacunae in the existing legislation effective since 1952.
It will empower the Central Government to re-issue the notice of acquisition to the owner and give the person an opportunity to be heard. Two other Bills on ancient monuments and Institute of Petroleum and Energy were introduced amidst the din.
On the opening day yesterday, both the Houses were adjourned after paying tributes to the sitting and ex members who had passed away during inter session.
