BJP has termed its victory in Rajasthan civic polls and recent Madhya Pradesh local body elections as an effective reply by the people to Congress malicious campaign against the state Chief Ministers in Lalit Modi controversy and Vyapam scam.

Talking to media persons in New Delhi, senior party leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Congress had unleashed a campaign of calumny against Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje which has been rejected by the people. He said, the civic poll results are people’s verdict on good governance and development work in the state. Mr. Prasad also questioned why Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who is commenting on every issue now a days, is silent on the poll outcomes.

The Minister also criticized Bihar Chief Minister for not complementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on package for the state and alleged that Nitish Kumar is not interested in the development. He also accused Mr. Kumar and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav of doing politics over the package.

Mr. Prasad took a dig on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for appealing the people to support Nitish Kumar in the upcoming state assembly elections. He wondered how the self-proclaimed champion of anti-corruption will campaign for the alliance in which fodder scam convict Lalu Prasad Yadav is a partner.
