BJP has suspended Assam executive member, Benazir Arfan, for expressing her support for Rohingya Muslims, currently facing persecution in Myanmar. Earlier Benazir supprted party’s Triple Talaq campaign in Assam.

Confirming the news, Arfan said that she was served the suspension letter through a WhatsApp message on Thursday by the party’s state president, Ranjeet Kumar Das. She’s been with the saffron party since 2012 and was BJP’s state executive body member.
Arfan told News18, “I have been insulted and will take this issue up at the highest level of the party.”
Arfan, who also contested the assembly elections on BJP ticket in 2016, said that she had posted a Facebook message asking people to join in but “inadvertently, I used the wrong word ‘protests’ for what was a prayer meeting.”
