Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu has slammed Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for his controversial remarks against the Prime Minister and termed the comments as anti-national.
Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr. Naidu also hit out at former Union Minister Salman Khurshid for criticizing the NDA government for adopting a tough stand towards Pakistan. He demanded that Congress should take strong action against them.
Meanwhile, Congress sought to defuse BJP’s attack insisting that the party line is enunciated at the AICC briefings alone.
Party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi told reporters that Aiyar and Khurshid have clarified in different ways on the remarks. He also said that Congress view is different from them and if anybody else says something that is his or her personal view.
During a panel discussion on a Pakistani news channel, Ayer had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to be removed if talks are to resume between India and Pakistan.
