NEW DELHI: BJP has announced that it will not sack its Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa involved in the controversy of land allotment scam. The announcement was made in the midst Bihar Assembly elections results, where the BJP delivered a strong performance. Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said Yeddyurappa will continue to be the chief minister and BJP will also conduct its own inquiry into the allegations against him. Yeddyurappa has been accused by the Opposition of misusing his public office to allot government land at below-market rates to his family members. After getting another lease of life in office, Yeddyurappa said in Bangalore that he is confident of completing the tenure of five years. He dismissed the allegations against him of land scam as creations of the Opposition. Taking cudgels against former Prime Minister Deve Gowda and his sons, he said their conspiracy to dispose him off has failed to yield desired results.
