BJP National Executive began here with clarion call to oust Samajwadi government from Uttar Pradesh. Party Chief Amit Shah asked party workers to work hard to ensure party’s victory in upcoming assembly elections in the state. he hoped that BJP will get full majority in the polls.

Mr. Shah also attacked Samajwadi Party government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state saying there is a lack of development and peace under the present regime.

Addressing party’s national executive he also raised the issue of recent Mathura violence and the reported mass exodus of people from Kairana and expressed concern. He alleged that state government has failed to control the Kairana situation.

Briefing media, senior party leader Ravi Shankar Prasad quoted Mr. Shah as asking party workers to prepare for next year’s assembly elections in Punjab, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which party considers as crucial.

On a question about reports that Home Minister Rajnath Singh may be the party’s face for UP poll, Mr. Prasad said that BJP’s Parliamentary Board takes a decision on such issues and not the national executive.

Mr. Prasad informed that the BJP Chief has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given decisive leadership to NDA government in last two years adding that Congress is getting increasingly weakened because of its repeated obstructions in the path of development.

During his speech, the BJP Chief also highlighted NDA government’s achievements and referred to several schemes launched by the present regime. He said India’s growth rate has increased from 5.4 to 7.6 percent despite difficult situation caused by global slowdown and drought.

He said the two years of Modi government’s rule was corruption free while UPA’s ten years was full of corruption. Hitting at the Congress, Mr. Prasad mentioned that Congress is increasingly weakening and it’s leaders are defecting. He , however, said that BJ P’s rise is not because of downfall of Congress but due to its ideology and conduct of its leaders.

Replying to a question, Mr Prasad said Ram temple is a matter of faith for the party and it is neither an electoral issue nor a matter of discussion for the national executive.

Referring to Prime Minister’s recent visit to five countries, party president said Mr Modi displayed intelligence, capability and confidence of India in his address at the joint meeting of the US Congress.
