The BJP today dismissed a news report that All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. AIMIM is contesting election in some of the Assembly Constituencies in Bihar. Party spokesperson, M J Akbar asserted that no such meeting has taken place. He said, the newspaper report is false and his party will file a defamation case against the newspaper.
Asian Age / Deccan Chronical today published a report suggesting Prime Minister Modi had a meeting with Owaisi, and discussed with him polls stretegy in Bihar.
“I want Prime Minister Modi and MIM chief Owaisi to tell the nation about the secret of their meeting. Was the meeting focused at defeating the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar or was it focused to uplift the minorities in the state?” JD (U) leader K C Tyagi told ANI here
Owaisi’s party has decided to field candidates in the Seemanchal region of Bihar where Muslims are in large numbers.
Some leaders of the grand alliance of JD(U)-RJD-Congress have alleged that Owaisi was doing it to help BJP by seeking to divide Muslim votes in next month’s polls to the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
In a tweet Owaisi said :
