A local court in Patna today issued an arrest warrant against former Chairman of Bihar School Examination Board Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh and his wife Usha Sinha.
She is former JD(U) MLA and has been made accused in the merit scam. Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh is understood to be the mastermind of toppers scam of Intermediate examination in the state. Usha Sinha has been removed from the post of Principal of Ganga Devi Womens college, Patna.
Both of them are absconding and raids are being carried out to nab them. Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj told media that ten people have been arrested in toppers scam.
He said, private assistant of Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh was arrested today. Meanwhile, an inquiry has been ordered into the affairs of educational institutions owned by intermediate toppers scam kingpin Bachcha Rai. The toppers had appeared in examination from the college of Bachcha Roi.
Vice Chancellor of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University has set up a three member committee to conduct extensive inquiry into matters related to the grant of affiliation to colleges owned by Bachcha Rai. Five colleges owned by him were given affiliation by this university in the last one decade. Probe Committee chief Satish Kumar Rai said, the panel would inquire to many aspects including affiliation related matters.
