BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has contradicted media reports which said NDA will not declare its Chief Ministerial candidate for Bihar Assembly elections.
Mr. Modi said the media has distorted the statement of Ananth Kumar who is in-charge of party’s Bihar election. He said Chief ministerial candidate of NDA will be declared at an appropriate time.

Earlier today, Ananth Kumar had said in Patna that BJP will contest assembly elections in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and good governance of NDA government at the centre. Soon after, attributing to Ananth Kumar’s statement, it was reported in the media that NDA will not declare its Chief Ministerial candidate.

JDU and Congress reacted on the media reports saying BJP has no faith in Bihar. State JDU President Vashisth Narayan Singh and State Congress President Ashok Chaudhary claimed that there is infighting within BJP over the Chief Ministerial candidate of NDA. After this, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi later clarified that the Chief Ministerial candidate of NDA will be declared at an appropriate time.
