Former Union Minister and Congress leader Beni Prasad Verma once again joined Samajwadi party today. He was considered one of the founder members of Samajwadi party and close associate of Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mr. Verma later joined Congress party and was also steel minister during Manmohan Singh government.
Formal announcement was made in a press conference in Lucknow in presence of Samajwadi party chief Mulayam Singh and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. In Uttar Pradesh, assembly elections are due in the first half of 2017.
