With the view of communal harmony and building a peaceful society and welfare of the Hindu religious community, Jatiya Sangsad, the Bangladesh parliament .passed a Bill titled ‘Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Bill, 2018’.
Religious Affairs Minister Principal Matiur Rahman moved the bill which was passed unanimously with voice votes with Deputy Speaker Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.
Piloting the bill, according to BSS, the Religious Affairs Minister said the new proposed act will replace the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Ordinance, 1983 which was already become ineffective as the prosecution has declared the fifteenth and seventh amendment of the constitution illegal.
Under the act, the main office of the trust will be at the capital and the trusty board can set up its office at any places across the country. Earlier, the proposed act was sent to the parliamentary standing committee for providing report.
