Terming the CBI court verdict on Babri Masjid Demolition case as ‘far from justice, the apex body of Indian Muslims, the  All India Muslim Personal Law Board, AIMPLB said that. ‘It is neither based on evidence and nor in accordance with the law.

In a statement the General Secretary AIMPLB, Maulana Wali Rahmani Said: “Whatever may be the reasons for acquittal but this is also a fact that many of us have seen videos and photos of demolition.  Who all was part of this conspiracy is an open secret”.

Mr Rahmani said that in 1994, a five judges’ bench of the Supreme Court stated that the demolition was a ‘National Shame’ and it shook the ‘faith in the rule of law and constitutional processes. A five-hundred-year-old structure which was defenceless and whose safety was a sacred trust in the hands of the State Government was demolished’. After this demolition, a new wave of communal violence has emerged in the country and we all see where we stand today. Now we see the verdict without fixing any accountability for the demolition.

On this event, we remind our countrymen that the Indian Muslim population stood by constitution and democracy when the nation including Judiciary failed them on 6th December 1992 and Indian Muslims demonstrated patience nationwide, when Supreme Court awarded the Babri Masjid land to a minuscule minority Hindu, and today Judiciary has maintained the same stride. Muslims, minorities, and a large portion of Hindus are ashamed and feel sorry for the current state of affairs.  Indian Muslims stood, protected, and kept faith in the Institutions which were carved out in 1947. These events have shaken faith in the temple of democracy and Institutions therein.

General Secretary said the trial would not have ended now had the Supreme Court not given strict direction in its order dated 19-4-2017. To uphold the rule of law, we urge the CBI to file an appeal.

All 32 accused in Babri Masjid demolition case acquitted

The Special CBI Court in Lucknow today acquitted all 32 accused in Babri demolition case. Special CBI Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav said that demolition happened at the spur of the moment and it was not a pre- planned incident. He said that there were not enough evidences to prove the allegations made by CBI in this case.

While delivering his verdict, the Special Judge said that the demolition was done by some anti- social elements and there was no alliance between such persons and accused.

Most of the senior leaders among the 32 accused such as L.K. Advani, Kalyan Singh and Murli Manohar Joshi were not present in the Lucknow court due to various reasons. Senior BJP Leader L K Advani welcomed the verdict.
