rajnathHome Minister Rajnath Singh has said that all attempts are being made to secure the release of an Indian soldier, who inadvertently crossed over to Pakistan.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said the government has taken note of the reports which stated that an Indian soldier is in Pakistan’s captivity.The Home Minister also said that New Delhi will take up the matter with Islamabad for his early release.

Army had said yesterday that one soldier has inadvertently crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control. It said that his crossing over was not related to the surgical strikes.

Today Mr Singh took a high level meeting with senior home ministry officials in the wake of the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army across the Line of Control (LoC).
