Congress today alleged that the attack on its vice president Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat yesterday was pre planned. Briefing media senior party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said it was the responsibility of the state government to ensure the safety and security of Mr Gandhi.
Condemning the incident, Mr Azad said such attacks should not take place in a civilized society. Rahul Gandhi’s car was pelted with stones during his visit to the flood-affected Dhanera in Gujarat but he escaped unhurt.
Meanwhile, Mr Gandhi has also reacted to the attack on him and alleged it is part of the BJP and RSS politics.
Rahul Gandhi said the attack on his convoy in Gujarat was a handiwork of the BJP-RSS.
That was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s way of doing politics, he said talking to reporters here about the attack that took place in Banaskantha in flood-hit Gujarat when he had gone there to meet the affected people yesterday.
‘A BJP worker threw a huge stone at me. My PSO got hurt. This is kind of politics that Modi ji, BJP and RSS do,’ Mr Gandhi said.
