Former Defence Minister A.K. Antony has termed the attack on the military camp in Jammu and Kashmir today that left 17 soldiers dead is “a serious security lapse”.
“This incident comes close on the heels of what happened in Pathankot. At both these places militants managed to enter the military camps and this is a huge security lapse,” Antony told media persons.
“The Kashmir issue is drifting and reaching dangerous propositions. All this is happening with the knowledge of Pakistan,” he added.
Gunmen shot dead seven military personnel at an Indian Air Force base at Pathankot in Punjab in January.
