Normal life has been affected due to flood water at many places in Assam. Surging water inundated roads and crop land. Landslides have also been reported at hilly areas.
Train movement has also been suspended due to landslide at Lumding- Badarpur hill section Over 10 thousand people have taken shelter at temporary relief camps.
SDRF teams have been deployed for relief and rescue works. Assam Forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya has visited flood affected areas at Barak valley to take stock of the flood situation.
