BJP makes history in Assam; dethrones Congress

Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has asked the BSF to ensure sealing of the Indo- Bangladesh border on a war footing. Chairing a high level meeting in Guwahati yesterday in presence of the Director General of the BSF, Mr. Sonowal stressed on erection of fencing works expeditiously.

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to seal the international border connecting Assam to prevent infiltration and smuggling. He assured the BSF of all help in sealing of 42 kilometer stretch in Dhubri sector. Earlier, Assam Governor P B Acharya had also demanded sealing of the porous border within a definite time frame.
