Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley left for a ten-day visit to the United States last night. During his visit, Mr Jaitley will address annual World Bank-International Monetary Fund meetings and later visit Peru. He will also deliver a lecture at the Columbia University on the reform measures taken by the Modi government.

The Finance Minister is being accompanied by RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das and Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian.

Mr Jaitley will also participate in the G-20 and BRICS Finance Ministers meetings on the sidelines of the Fund-Bank meetings, where he is expected to highlight various reform measures undertaken by India.
