Expressing satisfaction over the performance of Made-in-India supersonic Akash missile, Army Air Defence (AAD) Director General Parminder Singh Jaggi has said that the Army was looking for further performance enhancements in future.
The Army had successfully carried out user trial of Akash, the Short-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (SRSAM) in December 2017.
Talking to media persons Tuesday, Lt Gen Jaggi said, “We are happy with the Akash system. It is a watershed as far as indigenous systems are concerned. The biggest advantage is it is a home grown system.”
