He was talking to media here while releasing his monthly report card. The Home Minister said, he was in regular touch with the Maharashtra government on the probe conducted by Maharashtra ATS and the National Investigation Agency associated with it from the very beginning.

In response to a question, he said, there is currently no cause for security alarm in the national capital in view of the preparations for the Independence Day but Assam has been alerted to increase vigil.
In another query, the Home Minister expressed hope that there will be some progress in the Telengana issue.

Replying to questions on BJP Charges on Prime Minister, P Chidambaram that the Government would reply on 2G and other issues in Parliament. The Home Minister maintained that anything raised in Parliament deserves a reply and will be replied.

“There is no allegation…when the debate is raised in Parliament the government will reply to the debate. The allegations made by the BJP, a political party, will be replied by the Congress party’s spokespersons,” he told a press conference.
The Home Minister refused to be drawn into a controversy over the BJP’s remarks over the Prime Minister statement about many skeletons in the cupboard of the opposition parties.
“I do not want to comment on what the Prime Minister and the Leader of Opposition said. There is some room for give and take in politics”.
