TIA NEWS

amar-mulayamThe rift within the Samajwadi Party has further deepened on Friday with party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said that the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate will be decided after the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, a clear set back the current incumbent and son Akhilesh.

The remark comes as another setback to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who was recently removed from party’s state president post owing to an apparent feud with uncle Shivpal Yadav.

A peeved Akhilesh had said that the party is delaying going into campaign mode and if nobody comes forward, he will go ahead with the campaigning himself.

After Akhilesh’s statement, Mulayam’s snub is a clear message to the Chief Minister that the party’s command still lies very much with the senior Yadav.

Meanwhile, BJP is also trying to present itself as a strong alternative in the state. In a rally in Kanpur, Party president Amit Shah referred to the ongoing tussle in the ruling family and said those who cannot keep their own house in order cannot be trusted with the responsibility of the stare.

Uttar Pradesh’s election is going to be a fiercely fought one. While BJP will try to repeat its success of Lok Sabha polls in the state assembly as well, BSP is hoping for a comeback and SP of course is planning to keep the state in its own kitty.

In the close contest, it will be interesting to see who wins the confidence of voters in the state.
