The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has strongly condemned the recent military actions by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing them as a blatant violation of international sovereignty. The Board has called upon the United Nations and the global community to intervene immediately to secure a ceasefire and prevent further escalation in the region.

In a detailed statement, AIMPLB spokesperson Dr. S.Q.R. Ilyas said the strikes took place despite significant diplomatic progress regarding Iran’s nuclear program, reportedly facilitated by the Sultanate of Oman. He noted that the sudden withdrawal of the United States from negotiations, followed by Israeli military action, raises serious concerns about the sincerity of the diplomatic process.

Dr. Ilyas expressed deep sorrow over the reported martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stating that targeting the leadership of a sovereign nation constitutes a grave violation of the United Nations Charter and represents a tragic loss for the Muslim Ummah.

The Board also highlighted the broader geopolitical consequences of the conflict, observing that global powers appear increasingly polarized. While several European nations are seen aligning with the United States, Russia and China have extended support to Iran. According to the Board, this intensifying divide risks pushing the Middle East into prolonged instability, potentially triggering a global humanitarian crisis and significant economic disruption.

Commenting on India’s diplomatic stance, Dr. Ilyas expressed regret over what he described as a departure from the country’s historically balanced and principled foreign policy. He specifically noted the absence of an official condolence message following Ayatollah Khamenei’s reported death as inconsistent with India’s established diplomatic traditions.

The statement concluded with a strong appeal to the United Nations to move beyond rhetorical responses and take decisive action, warning that failure to contain the conflict could have far-reaching consequences for global peace and security.
