Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said action will be taken as per law against those who were involved in yesterday’s incident of beating journalists and JNU students at Patiala House court. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi, Mr Singh said an FIR has already been registered in the matter and investigation is going on.

Yesterday, a group of lawyers thrashed reporters before a hearing in a sedition case against JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar in Patiala House court complex in Delhi. Outside the court, BJP MLA O P Sharma and a group of hooligans allegedly attacked students and journalists.

Earlier, addressing Delhi police raising day function, Mr Singh said government has made a provision of reserving 33 per cent seats for women in the central police forces. He said home ministry has issued advisories to state governments to make such provision in their police forces.
