Soon after the removal of Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from its National Executive, the Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday sent out a warning to its other dissidents when its National Council gave full powers to the Political Affairs Committee to take disciplinary action against any member who issues statements to the media to tarnish the party’s image.

AAP in a statement said that the National Council has authorised the PAC to take disciplinary action against any member who, without authorisation, issues media statement against party line and deciAAPsions in a bid to tarnish image of the party.

Party sources said now that Bhushan-Yadav duo are neither a member of the PAC or the NE, it would be easy to take action against them and expel them from the party, if they give statements that could tarnish the image of the party.

Meanwhile, anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare on Saturday termed the tussle in the AAP as the party’s ‘internal matter’ and said he was in no position to offer any advice to its warring leaders.

Asked about the expulsion of dissident leaders Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from the National Executive of AAP, Mr Anna Hazare told reporters at his native village Ralegan Siddhi in adjoining Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra that it was an ‘internal matter’ of the outfit.

When asked whether he would like to offer advice to the beleaguered party leadership, the veteran social activist said that is beyond his thinking.

Meanwhile, AAP’s internal Lokpal, Admiral (retd) L Ramdas on Saturday said he will not quit the post even though he was asked not to attend the crucial National Council meeting for which he had travelled all the way from Maharashtra.

Earlier, Ms Patekar, who quit the AAP said she was pained at the denial of entry to some party members, including internal Lokpal L Ramdas, at the National Council meeting.

Condemning the ugly infighting in the party, Ms Patekar supported Yadav and Bhushan.

She said in Mumbai that the AAP leadership insulted senior leaders.

She said Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav have contributed so much to the party and as per her knowledge there is no such instance where they have been involved in anti-party activities.

She also said Bhushan’s Public Interest Litigations have helped in the fight against corruption and Yogendra Yadav is not just a spokesperson but he has contributed to the Party’s ideology.
