Congress Thursday attacked the government over the issue of agrarian crisis in the country. The party accused it of not fulfilling its promises of fixing the Minimum Support Price of crops and incorporating 50 per cent profit in farmers’ cost of production.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia demanded that the report of M S Swaminathan Commission should be implemented as promised by the BJP during the Lok Sabha polls in 2014.

Another Congress leader Sushmita Dev highlighted problems being faced by people after floods in north eastern states and demanded assistance for them. She alleged that people are facing hardships in these areas but the government is not providing proper assistance assistance to them.
