Rashtriya Janata Dal, RJD, has said that the party will go in public to explain about charges levelled by the CBI against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members.

Mr. Yadav held a meeting with senior leaders at his residence in Patna last evening. RJD also rejected the BJP’s demand for resignation of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav after he was made an accused in the land-for-hotel case being probed by the CBI.

After meeting, Party Vice President Raghuvansh Prasad Singh reiterated that the grand alliance government is intact. Our correspondent reports that the meeting came after yesterday’s JD(U) meet in which it asked RJD to clear it stands on corruption charges levelled by CBI.

RJD’s national vice-president Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said Tejashwi would even attend the Cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday.

“Why wouldn’t he (Tejashwi) attend the cabinet meeting? He is deputy CM and will continue on this post,” said Singh, replying to a media query at the end of RJD meeting held at the residence of Lalu Prasad late Tuesday evening.
