Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky Yadav, son of Bihar Law maker will now go back to jail as Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Panta High Court order granting him bail in a murder case in which he had shot dead a school going boy.
Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky Yadav allegedly shot dead a XII standard student after deceased Swift car overtook his Land Rover. The incident took place on May 7 this year. He was arrested on May 11, 2016
While staying the October 19 order of Patna High Court granting bail to Rocky Yadav, the bench of Justice S.A.Bobde and Justice Ashok Bhushan observed, “charge sheet has already been filed in the case and this may go against you”.
The court issued notice to Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky Yadav as it directed further hearing in the matter on the reopening of the court after Diwali break.
Rockey Yadav who holds a certificate of “Renowned Shooter” from the National Rifle Association of India, is son of suspended JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi. His father Bindi Yadav is a history-sheeter.
Describing the matter as an open and shut case, senior counsel Rajiv Dutta urged the court to either cancel the bail of Rocky Yadav or stay October 19 High Court order granting him bail.
The charge-sheet filed before a Gaya court has named Rocky Singh and another co-accused in connection with the murder.
Seeking the cancellation of bail granted to Rocky Yadav by the high court on October 19, the Bihar government, in its petition, has contended that “he has shot dead a young boy on the highway because he could not tolerate a small Swift car overtaking his big and imported Land Rover”.
While granting bail to Rocky Yadav, the high court had noted that co-accused Rajesh Kumar has already been granted bail.
