In Syria, 25 civilians were killed in Russian air strikes on rebel-held eastern areas of Aleppo city today. Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, the toll was expected to rise because people remained trapped under rubble.

News agency reports that the intense raids continued for a second night, after Syrian government announced an operation late Thursday to recapture all of the city. According to the Observatory, at least 47 people were killed in heavy bombing yesterday.
