India’s prominent Muslim organizations today came together demanding complete ban on export of beef from the country.

At a seminar organised by Ittehad-e-Millat Council here speakers stressed that Muslims and Dalits were being targeted by the cow vigilantes while non-Muslims are making money from Beef export business. They showed a documentary evidence that top ten beef exporting companies are owned by non-Muslims.

#The Muslim groups rejected the statement of Prime Minister Narender Modi that anti-social elements are taking law in their hand in the name of protection of cows. Most speakers called the PM’s statement as hollow rhetoric devoid of any action against those involved in public humiliation and beating of Muslims and Dalits.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh also joined hands with these Muslim groups in demanding a total ban on beef export.

Digvijay Singh said : “RSS ideologue Veer Savarkar was the one who was opposed to ban on cow slaughter. But I as a Hindu believe that cow slaughter should be banned.”

“Why do Hindus sell their cows when she becomes old? Why don’t these vigilantes take care of old cows? Do you sell your mother when she grows old?”

Speaker said cow vigilantes are using this issue to create hatred among Hindus and Muslims and trying to achieve political benefit out of it. The police and the governments are tacitly supporting these elements.

Maulana Tauqeer Raza of the Ittehad Millat said: “Modi promised that when he will come to power he will bring in milk revolution and ban pink revolution. But the fact is that beef export has increased by 20 percent in the last two years. India has become number one in beef export. Modi Sarkar is the number one govt in killing of animals.”

Maulana said the Prophet once said beef is full of disease while cows’ milk is full of health. Therefore Muslims should avoid eating beef.

The symposium was attended by representatives of All India Majlise Mushawrat, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and Jamat-e-Islami among others. Actor Raza Murad also spoke on this occasion.

The idea behind this seminar was to take an initiative to make people aware and send a message to the government about so-called cow protectors, since the ‘holy cow’ is being used to propagate hatred and target Muslims and Dalits.
