63 dead as suicide 54 injured in suicide blast at Quetta Civil Hospital

Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif reached Quetta to review the law and order situation following the tragic incident of bomb blast that claimed 63 lives.
Death toll due to suicide blast at at Quetta’s Civil Hospital has gone up to 63. Among 55 many are still struggling for life. A suicide bomber targeted the emergency services ward at Quetta’s Civil Hospital today.
Among dead are 25 lawyers including Baz Muhammad Kakar and a journalist and 56 others suffered injuries including lawyers, journalists and civilians.
The suicide bomber blew himself up outside the gate of Emergency Ward in Sandeman Civil Hospital Quetta.
Home Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti confirmed the death of 53 (fifty three) in the tragic blast and said 56 others were under treatment in various hospitals of the city.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and Inspector General Police, Ahsan Mehboob also confirmed that it was a suicide bomb explosion.
The Home Minister said that 53 people died in the blast and 56 others were injured, adding that the terrorists targeted lawyers who were gathered at the gate of the hospital after bringing the dead body of President, Balochistan Bar Association, Bilal Anwar Kasi there who was gunned down by unknown armed men on Manno Jan Road Quetta, on Monday morning.
A cameraman of a private TV channel was among the dead. Most of the dead were lawyers while injured include lawyers and journalists.
The bomber struck soon after dozens of lawyers gathered at the hospital following the killing of the Balochistan Bar Association President, who was shot dead this morning.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the blast, which occurred at the gates of the building housing the emergency ward.
“The blast took place after a number of lawyers and some journalists had gathered at the hospital following the death of the president of the Balochistan Bar Association in a separate shooting incident this morning,” said Balochistan Home Secretary Akbar Harifal.

Sharif strongly condemned the blast at civil hospital in Quetta and expressed deep grief and anguish over the loss of precious human lives.
“No one will be allowed to disturb peace in the province that has been restored due to countless sacrifices of security forces, police and the people of Baluchistan,” a statement from the PM House quoted the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif directed the concerned authorities to maintain utmost vigilance and beef up security for the legal fraternity and members of civil society.
Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid and National Security Advisor Nasser Janjua accompanied the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister will meet the injured of bomb blast at Civil Hospital and Combined Military Hospital.
