Rajnath , CM Sonowal make aerial survey of flood hit districts

The Centre will send an inter ministerial team to assess flood damages caused by flood in Assam. Talking to media in Guwahati today, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh emphasised on adopting a long term measures in tackling flood situation.
He stressed that the state government should prepare an action plan in this direction. The Home minister assured the Assam government of all helps to tackle the situation.
He said that 620 crore rupees are available with the state government under state disaster relief fund. The Home minister said that 36 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 28 districts.
26 persons have lost their lives in flood. He laid emphasise on strengthening the river embankments.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal has said that the state government submitted a memorandum to the Centre seeking help to recover from the present situation. The State government will submit a detail report once situation improves.
Earlier, Union Home minister accompanied by Chief Minister Sarbabnand Sonowal and the minister in charge of North East Dr. Jitendra Singh made an aerial survey of flood hit Nagaon and Morigaon districts as well as the Kaziranga national park. He also visited a relief camp at Morigaon.
