Gujarat High Court today sentenced life imprisonment to 7 accused for the killing of 3 members of minority community in Viramgam during post Godhra riots.
The High Court during the last hearing on 28th June had confirmed the conviction of two accused held guilty in the case by the lower court.
It had also found seven others guilty of murder in the same case. Out of these 7 convicts, 3 had been acquitted by the trial court and 4 others were held guilty of lesser offences.
Now, total nine of the 10 accused have been sentenced with life terms in this case, while one has been acquitted. The case was related to the killing of 3 people in Viramgam town on 28th February 2002 during the post Godhra violence.
