Judith D’souza, the Indian national who was abducted in Kabul last month, has been rescued. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said this in a tweet Saturday morning.
Judith, working for an international NGO Aga Khan Foundation, was kidnapped by suspected militants in Kabul last month a week before she was to return home.
Mrs Swaraj had assured Judith’s family of making all efforts to bring her back.
The family had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to do the utmost in securing her release.
Mr Modi had requested Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to expedite the efforts to rescue Judith.
