There was no respite from flood in Assam. The Brahmaputra and its a few tributaries are maintaining a rising trend in a few places. Official sources said that over 88 thousands people have been affected in seven districts.
Flood water also affected over 6 thousand hectare of crop land. District administration has set up 7 relief camps in worst hit Lakhimpur district and relief materials are being distributed. Boats have been pressed into services at Morigaon district to rescue marooned people.
