The much-awaited reshuffle of the Union Council of Ministers will take place tomorrow July 5. Principal spokesperson of the government Frank Norhona said swearing will be held at 11 AM.

At present, there are 66 ministers in the Council including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As per the Constitution, there can be 82.

There is also a vacancy in the Council of Ministers after Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal became the Chief Minister of Assam. A berth is also vacant for ally Shiv Sena.

Sources say Prime Minister may induct new faces in his council from Uttar Pradesh which will go to polls early next year.

Mr Modi has held long discussions with BJP president Amit Shah recently to finalise the changes which is taking place just days ahead of Mr Modi leaving on a four-nation Africa tour on July 7.
