In another incident of attack on minority in Bnagladesh, miscreants attacked and killed priest of a Hindu monastery named Brahmarajpur Radhagobinda Temple in Sadar upazila of SATKHIRA district early today.
The priest Bhabsindhu Dhar, son of Hajarinam Dhar of Bajudanga village of the upazila, suffered injuries in the attack.
Officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Emdadul Haque said a group masked miscreants numbering about 6 to seven entered the temple at 4am and chopped the priest, reports BSS.
Hearing scream of the victim, local people rushed to the spot and admitted Bhabsindhu to Satkhira Sadar Hospital in a critical condition.
Yesterday a Hindu priest was also hacked to death in Kastasagar village of Sadar Upazilla in Jhenaidah district, northwestern part of the country. The killing comes hardly a month after another priest was similarly hacked in the same district.
Shyamananda Das,50, serving the Radha Madan Gopal temple for the last 3 years, was picking flowers for the puja in front of the shrine, when 3 motor-cycle bound assailants attacked him with sharp weapons.He died on the spot.
