Six militants were killed in two separate militancy related incidents in the Kashmir Valley. The security forces recovered six AK 47 rifles, ammunition and war like stores both the encounter sites.
Defence spokesman told media that Army foiled infiltration bid in Toot Mar Gali Nowgam sector of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
During the two day operation near Line of Control, four heavily armed unidentified militants were killed. One soldier was also killed in the operation.
In another operation, two terrorists of militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen Mehraj Bhat & Adil Mir were killed in a gunfight that raged in Khonchipora village of Tangmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district today.
Two soldiers were reported wounded in the operation. The residential house in which both the militants were holed up, was also damaged in the operation.
Clashes between people and the security forces were reported from the area.
