Four separate car blasts in capital Baghdad have claimed at least 88 lives. Police sources said, the deadliest attack took place in Sadr City neighbourhood when an explosive-laden vehicle blew off at a busy market killing 61 people and injuring nearly 100 others. Most of the victims were women.

Other blasts rocked three separate districts in Baghdad, killing at least 27 people. The blasts took place at police checkpoints in predominantly Shia, Kadhimiyah and Hurriyah districts, and Jamiyah district. Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
